MLB Feature Previews

LA Angels at Toronto Blue Jays (9:07am) (Best)

Tip: Blue Jays WIN ($1.65)

The Toronto Blue Jays will kick off a six game homestand against the visiting LA Angels on Wednesday. Toronto boasts an AL best 3.72 ERA which gives them a edge of their closest AL east competition but they aren’t having it all their own way. They are still tied for first place with Boston and just two games clear of Baltimore and still have work to do before they are assured any postseason action. LA have know their season to be over for quite some time, going 3-3 in their last six overall and losers of their last 10 road contests and it doesn’t get much easier here. Starting for Toronto will be R.A. Dickey (8-13, 4.51ERA) who owns a 1-4 record with a 6.68 ERA in his last six outings. He is heading for his first losing season since 2011 and will need to be better in this one if he is to keep the likes of Trout and Pujols quiet. Opposing him will be Angels starts Tyler Skaggs (1-2, 5.19 ERA) who is making just his sixth start after surgery. HIs last three have seen him allow 15 runs and 25 hits in just 13.2 innings. Dickey hasn’t been great, but Skaggs is worse and the Blue Jays bats will swing.

Detroit Tigers at Minnesota Twins (10:12am)

Tip: Twins over 4.5 runs ($1.95)

The Tigers managed to salvage a four game series against the Red Sox by splitting it to age apiece to keep on track towards a playoff spot. Detroit have gone through a bit of a slump recently, dropping fie of six before busting out a 10-5 victory on Monday. There isn’t much to speak about in the Minnesota clubhouse either, getting swept by the Royals while scoring a total of six runs in the four games which goes against their stats for this year being a better road scoring team than when they are at home. Picking a winner here won’t be easy as both sides are struggling but there is some trends on both sides that point to an overs bet. It is 5-1-1 in Sanchez’s last 7 road starts and 4-1-2 in his last 7 road starts vs teams with losing records. On the other side, Minnesota over is 5-1 in their last 6 home games vs RH starters and 4-0 in Gibson’s last 4 starts overall. The Wolf has a feeling the Twins bats will wake up in this one and squeeze by the 4.5 run total that’s on offer.
