Coming off a 9-5 Thursday The Wolf is ready to keep the ball rolling into the weekend.

Detroit Tigers at Minnesota Twins (Game two) (Best)

Tip: Tigers WIN ($1.68)

Game two of this series was abandoned on Thursday when rain set in during the third inning which now forces a doubleheader to be played Friday. This will be game two in the back to back set which will see ace Justin Verlander (14-8, 3.22 ERA) on the mound for Detroit while Ervin Santana (7-10, 3.38 ERA) will toss for Minnesota. The Tigers have struggled at home against the Twins however have dominated when they visit the Tigers in their own backyard. Detroit have won all seven meetings in Minnesota this season, a trend they hope to continue on Friday when they push for the second wild card spot. Both pitchers come in to this one off near identical performances, throwing seven scoreless innings and copping a no decision against respectable opponents. It;s hard to split the starters, despite Santana owning a far worse record than Verlander. The difference will come in the batting lineup and the key for Detroit is Miguel Cabrera who is hot right now. Tigers get home by a run.

Philadelphia Phillies at NY Mets

Tip: Over 8 runs ($1.95)

The Mets were lucky when the schedules were handed out, given a very soft September to close out the season but they haven’t taken advantage of it to date. They come in to this series on the back of losing three straight at home to the NL’s worst team in the form of the Braves. NY now get a second shot at home, this time a four game series against the Phillies. Philadelphia come in to this one as winners in four of their last five and riding the youth movement that has seen them score plenty of runs. Neither starter has seen much of their opposition, Adam Morgan (2-10, 5.57 ERA) seeing NY for just 8.2 innings in his career and Seth Lugo (4-2, 2.35 ERA) facing Philly for the first time. In those 8.2 innings, Morgan has yielded 11 runs from 15 hits – seven of which were home runs. In the 12 games these squads have played this season there has been 96 runs scored. The over is 5-1 in the last 6 Mets games when they’ve faced a LH starter and it’s 11-4-1 in game one of a series in the last 16 for the Phillies. With both offences clicking at the moment, the Wolf is liking the
over – just.
