MLB Feature Previews

Minnesota Twins at Kansas City Royals (4:15am)

Tip: Royals WIN

The 2015 World champs were presumed dead and buried in the AL playoff race but have come to life in a recent stretch. They go in to this one against the visiting Twins looking for their eighth straight win and attempt to complete the sweep of Minnesota. Four of those seven wins have come against Minnesota, starting last weekend with an 11-4 victory in Minnesota. They have outscored them 23-5 in this series and with the Twins struggling we’re likely to see the sweep become reality Monday. Danny Duffy (10-1, 2.73 ERA) has not lost since the start of June and is coming off 7.2 quality innings against the Tigers where allowed just the one run. His outing before that start he managed to toss a complete game against the White Sox. Opposing Duffy will be Minnesota ace Ervin Santana (6-9, 3.43 ERA) who is enjoying his own little three game win streak. He threw seven scoreless innings against Atlanta last start and has allowed two runs or less in his last five starts. His previous start against the Royals back in May he gave up six runs and nine hits in just 3.2 innings. The wolf likes what he is seeing from Duffy at the moment, Royals to win.

New York Mets at San Francisco Giants (10:05am)

Tip: Mets WIN

Welcome back to the line-up Yoenis Cespedes is what every Met fan around the world will be saying after Saturdays batting display that saw him hit two home runs and nearly hit a third, helping the Mets to a 9-5 victory. The Mets will now look to win game four and split the series in their quest to re-join the race for an NL wild card spot. Currently owning a 61-62 record, the Mets will need to get on a roll if they are to catch the Cardinals for the second wild card spot and will travel to St Louis after this series for a three game spot. Noah Syndergaard (10-7, 2.76 ERA) will get the job Monday in an attempt to tie the series after beating Arizona in his last start. He lasted 5.2 innings while giving up two earned and striking out eight. Jeff Samardzija (10-8, 4.24 ERA) gets the ball for SF and is coming off a three run, six hit effort against the Pirates which resulted in a loss. If the Mets can get an early jump in this one there should be confidence that Thor can hold down the Giants bats.
