Coming off a vanilla 5-5 day The Wolf wants to celebrate the 900 season win mark in style!

NY Yankees at Tamp Bay Rays (Best)

Tip: Over 7.5 runs ($1.91)

After getting swept by their arch enemy the Red Sox, New York now face a massive task to make it in to the post season. Their recent record is vastly different to the last time they faced Tampa earlier this month. They were riding a seven game win streak before dropping the series finale and then spiralling to a 1-7 record that has them where they are now. Getting the nod for the visitors is Michael Pineda (6-11, 4.94 ERA) who has allowed just two runs or less in three straight starts. He’s faced Tampa already in September, leaving the game after just 4.2 innings while holding a 7-2 lead. The Rays will send Drew Smyly (7-11, 4.98 ERA) in to face the Yankees line-up and hasn’t lost since the middle of July. Worth noting there have been a number of no decisions in that time and has shown some concerning performances in that stretch. There is trends all over the place for the over with both squads and when they meet. It is 5-0 in the Rays last 5 home games vs a RH starter and 5-1-1 in Smyly’s last 7 home starts. It’s 6-0-2 in Pineda’s last 8 road starts vs teams with losing records and 4-0 in his last 4 vs the Rays overall. Play the over.

Washington Nationals at Miami Marlins

Tip: Nationals under 3 runs ($1.85)

Washington starter Tanner Roark (15-8, 2.75 ERA) is on the verge of a career year as he enters this game in search of his 16th win for the season. As good as he’s been this season, he has struggled against Miami thus far allowing 16 runs on 24 hits in losing his first three starts to them before bouncing back in his last effort pitching a decent 6.2 innings for just the one run. While Roark hasn’t been great, Jose Fernandez (15-8, 2.99 ERA) has won all three of his starts against the Nats to improve to a 6-0 record with a 1.13 ERA lifetime. He has dominated this season at home too, holding an 11-2 record and a 1.77 ERA. That doesn’t go well for a Washington team who have put up just eight runs in their three game skid. It’s no surprise that the Nationals offence has dried up on the back of Bryce Harper and his struggles. With Fernandez at home on the mound and the Nationals struggling to make contact, tipping the under for the Nats.
