MLB Feature Previews

Chicago White Sox at Cleveland Indians (9:10am) (Best Bet)

Tip: Indians WIN ($1.56)

Danny Salazar (11-4, 3.38 ERA) returns from the DL for game three of the series as both sides look to pick up the series victory after splitting the opening two. Salazar has faced the White Sox twice already this season, winning both starts and improving his lifetime record against them to 5-2 with a 3.19 ERA. IN both games he struck out seven batters, giving him a total of 63 in eight career outings against Chicago. Keep an eye on the player props and his strikeout total, might be worth your time if the number is set right. Carlos Rodon (3-8, 4.32 ERA) will go for Chicago and recorded his first win in nearly three months last week. He does carry an impressive record against Cleveland, 3-0 with a 1.75 ERA) in 36 innings total. Chicago did win game two of this series but that was the first win against the Indians in seven previous attempts and Cleveland’s second loss in seven outright. Cleveland will be desperate to put more space between them and Detroit and with Salazar returning this should be a win for the tribe.

Houston Astros at Baltimore Orioles (9:05am)

Tip: Orioles WIN ($1.88)

Houston have suddenly fallen back in to the form they showed through the first third of the season, now losers of four straight. There is concern up and down the line-up as well as in the pitching rotation, being outscored 29-11 in those four games. They now visit Camden Yards and the Baltimore Orioles in a quest to get things back on track. Joe Musgrove (1-0, 1.47 ERA) is coming off a solid outing against Toronto, giving up two runs in seven innings. He struck out seven in that game and has struck out 13 over his last two outings. Pitching for the home side will be Kevin Gausman (3-10, 4.04 ERA) who has given up just two runs in each of his last three outings. He faced Houston earlier in the year, lasting just five innings in a 4-2 loss for his only career start against the Astros. Baltimore are leading Houston by 5 ½ games in the second AL wild card race so this will be a huge series for both clubs. Tipping the home team to get the victory in this one and stretch that lead on Houston.
