MLB Tips – 17th September

MLB betting odds multi

Well the Indians winning streak is over and the loss capped an average Saturday morning of tips for the Wolf. But it was a fun ride for the Tribe and the Wolf is back for more on Sunday. The day starts with a few safe bets in the Astros and Cubs. The Yankees pounded the Orioles again but the over total game score is the best bet. The Indians face the Royals again and the Wolf is going for the under runs. The same can be said for the Athletics/Phillies game after the Athletics shut them out on Saturday.

Toronto Blue Jays at Minnesota Twins (9:10am)

Tip: Over 9.5 runs ($1.83)

Lost in the Indians amazing streak is the Minnesota Twins (77-69) and they’re having an underrated season. They haven’t made the playoffs since 2010 and they have finished last in the AL Central in four of the last six seasons. So Twins fans are out in force at the moment. They have around 5 teams chasing the last spot in the playoffs and every win is important for the Twins. On the mound, Adalberto Mejia will return from the disabled list which has the Wolf a bit worried. He has a 5.40 ERA at home this season and a 2-4 record. But in his last home start, the Twins won 11-4. Marco Estrada gets the ball for the Blue Jays and they won 10-9 in his last outing against the Twins. He also has a 5+ ERA on the road and a poor win-loss record at 3-5. So the over total game score is looking the goods here.

San Diego Padres at Colorado Rockies (10:10am)

Tip: Over 12 runs ($1.87)

The Rockies open as the favourite in this game as they have a 5-0 record against the Padres (not including Saturday). They also have scored a total of 36 runs in the last three at home against them. The over total game score went 3-0 in those games and the pitching matchup says this will be high scoring. Tyler Anderson makes the start and he’s coming off a 6 run outing against the Mariners at home. In his last start, he lasted just 2.1 innings against the Dodgers so his form coming into this start isn’t great. Overall this season, he has a 6.04 ERA at home and hopefully the Padres can take advantage. In his last 5 appearances at home, the over total game score went 4-1 as well. For the Padres, Jordan Lyles makes his return to Colorado after he was traded from the Rockies earlier in the year. So he’ll be looking to prove his old team wrong. But he has allowed a total of 15 runs in his last 17.2 innings and he’ll be facing the Rockies batting lineup that’s ranked 1st in MLB for runs scored at home. In his last away start, the Padres did win 10-6 and the over total easily saluted. So the Wolf is backing it here.
