MLB Tips – 14th August

MLB betting odds multi

On Monday, the day starts with a few safe bets in the Blue Jays and Rockies. The Nationals play a double header against the Giants and the Wolf is going for a 2-0 day for the Nationals. Corey Kluber is up against the Rays who have been shutout in both games in this series. So the best bet is the Indians by 2+ runs. The Mets and Phillies is a tough game to predict but the Wolf is sticking with the home team (Phillies). The Cardinals are flying at the moment and they should easily beat the Braves on Monday. Houston have Dallas Keuchel on the mound and they’ll try to end a four game losing streak. But the Wolf is backing the under runs for a value bet. The Wolf is also backing a few low scoring games in Arizona and Seattle. The MLB action concludes with the Yankees and Red Sox in New York. The Wolf previews that game below:

Boston Red Sox at New York Yankees (10:05am)

Tip: Red Sox -1.5 ($2.00)

The Monday feature game is the last of the series between the Yankees and Red Sox at Yankee Stadium. The series is tied at 1-1 after the Red Sox won 10-5 on Sunday. While the Yankees rallied in the first game and defeated Boston 5-4. In this pitching matchup, Chris Sale of the Red Sox is up against Jordan Montgomery from the Yankees. Montgomery was hit in the head in batting practice on Sunday but he’ll be right for this start. But he doesn’t have a great recent record at home. In his last home start, he lasted just 2.2 innings and allowed 4 runs against the Rays. Overall, the Yankees are just 2-5 in his last seven starts. He also gave up 3 runs in 4 innings against the Red Sox in July. For the Red Sox, Sale has dominated in his last three away starts, conceding 0 runs in 21 innings. He’s also only allowed 9 hits in those innings. The Red Sox won all of those games by the handicap and they have scored 12 runs to 2. Sale hasn’t pitched at Yankee Stadium this year, but his last start at the venue was a complete game when he played for the White Sox. In his last start against the Yankees in 2017, he recorded 13 strikeouts in 7.2 innings. The Wolf can’t see the Yankees getting near Sale so the best value bet is the Red Sox by the handicap.
