The Wolf has made his selections for Wednesday’s MLB action below. He’ll start with a preview of the Rangers clash against the Mariners. The Indians keep on winning and they’re a safe bet again on Wednesday. The Rockies are one of the best chances of an upset against the D-Backs.
Seattle Mariners at Texas Rangers (10:05am)
The Rangers halted a two game losing streak on Tuesday and they’ll start as a high priced favourite on Wednesday. The Mariners will likely struggle with Marco Gonzales on the mound. Since joining the team in early August, he has recorded 5 no decisions in 6 starts. In those 6 starts, he hasn’t reached the 5th inning so he’ll likely struggle against the Rangers. Overall, the Mariners are 3-3 in his 6 starts as well. The Rangers acquired Miguel Gonzalez from the White Sox and he’ll be making his home debut in this game. He struggled in his first start as a Ranger, giving up 2 home runs in 3 innings but the Rangers won 12-8. The difference in this matchup is the Rangers are playing for a wildcard spot. They’re just outside second place and every win is crucial at this stage. Which has the Wolf confident they will win this game after a 5-3 win in game 1. Back the Rangers.
Houston Astros at Los Angeles Angels (12:07pm)
Justin Verlander returns to the mound in his second game as an Astro on Wednesday. He pitched 6 innings against the Mariners in his debut and he’ll aim for a 2-0 record with his new team. However, he had trouble against the Angels in his only start against them this year when he was at Detroit. The Angels scored 4 runs against him and the Wolf can see them scoring runs in this contest. The Astros lost four in a row against the Athletics and they conceded 41 total runs. The over runs total easily went 4-0 and the Wolf is leaning that way. Garrett Richards gets the ball for the Angels and he’ll be limited in his return from injury. He pitched 3.1 innings against the Athletics last start and the Angels went on to win 8-7. Overall in the head to head this season, the Astros lead 8-5 but the over total is 4-2 in the last 6 meetings. So the Wolf is going with the overs on Wednesday.
