The Wolf nailed the over total runs in Boston and finished with a 9-5-1 record. He’s back for more winners’ on Thursday and will start in Boston once again with Game 2 of the series between the Red Sox and Yankees.
New York Yankees at Boston Red Sox (9:10am)
Well the first game of this series couldn’t have started better for the Red Sox as they trashed the Yankees 14-1. Mookie Betts hit a grand slam and Chris Sale dominated on the mound. So game 2 should be very interesting. David Price heads to the hill and like Sale, he’s looking in great touch so far. He’s pitched against the Rays twice and has allowed just 7 hits in 14 innings. After moving to the bullpen last season, Price looks to be back in All-Star form. So he should enjoy facing this struggling Yankees lineup. The Yankees also had to make use of their pen in game 1, which doesn’t help them in this matchup. Tanaka will be their starter and he’ll try to stop this Red Sox lineup. He’s pitched well in first start. But he’s given up a home run in both starts this season. Which is concerning for the Wolf so he’ll be backing the Red Sox to continue their winning streak on Thursday.
Los Angeles Angels at Texas Rangers (10:05am)
In one of the late games of the day, the Angels are looking for their third straight win and a sweep of this series. They have smashed the Rangers 19-4 in the first two games so the Wolf likes their form coming into this contest. They do have a rookie pitcher on the mound, which is a bit of a concern. But the Angels in-form batting lineup is the key. Mike Trout homered last game and the likes of Upton, Pujols and Simmons are showing early season form. For the Rangers, Matt Moore is on the mound and the Wolf is predicting another tough outing. In his first two starts this season, he’s lost both and holds a woeful 11.05 ERA. Against the Blue Jays, the Rangers lost 8-5 at home and he allowed 5 runs in 3.1 innings. Meanwhile in the first start, the Astros thrashed them 9-3 and Moore gave up 7 hits/4 runs. So the Wolf sees value in the Angels winning this game. They’re already 5-1 on the road this season and the Rangers are just 2-7 at home.
