MLB Tips – 10th October

MLB betting odds multi

Both the Yankees and Red Sox kept their seasons alive on Monday and the Wolf went 2-0 in his tips. On Tuesday, all teams are in action and the Wolf makes his tips below.

Houston Astros at Boston Red Sox (3:08am)

Tip: Over 10.5 runs ($2.00)

The Red Sox bats came alive in game 3 and they’ve saved the series after a 10-3 victory. In game 4, Rick Porcello will aim to tie the series with a strong home start. But he’s been far from good at home in 2017 with a 5.43 ERA. In his last home start, the Blue Jays hit two home runs but the Red Sox won 10-7. However, they have a 1-3 record in his last 4 home starts. There’s also been a total of 57 runs scored in those 4 games and the runs have flowed in the ALDS so far. The Astros still scored 3 runs in the first inning of game 3 and they’ve averaging 6.33 runs per game in this series. So they’ll likely enjoy facing Porcello. They also scored 7 runs in Porcello’s last start against them. The Astros are starting Charlie Morton and he did win his last start at Fenway. But runs have also flowed in his last 4 road starts. The over total is 3-1 in those games and he has a 4.17 ERA on the road this season. The over total saluted in game 3 and the Wolf is backing it again in game 4.

Washington Nationals at Chicago Cubs (6:08am)

Tip: Over 7.5 runs ($1.87)

The Nationals travel to Wrigley Field for game 3 and they’ll be confident after they rallied in game 2. Down 3-1, the Nationals scored 5 runs in the 8th to win 6-3 and tie the series at 1-1. In game 3, Max Scherzer will make the start and he does a slight hamstring issue coming into this game. He has earned a win in his last two starts against the Cubs, but they were both in Washington. In his last start at Wrigley, the Cubs won 8-6 and he allowed 7 runs in 5 innings. He does a 1.82 ERA on the road this season but the playoffs should be a different story. For the Cubs, they’ve scored 3 runs in both games this series so they should take advantage. They traded in Jose Quintana for a playoff run and he’ll head to the mound. He’s never faced the Nationals in his career and he hasn’t looked great at home recently. In his last start before the playoffs, he allowed 4 runs against the Reds. Overall in his 8 starts as a Cub at Wrigley, he’s allowed 24 total runs and 7 home runs in 44 innings. This spells trouble against the likes of Harper and Zimmerman as they both homered in game 2. So the Wolf is taking the over total in game 3.

Cleveland Indians at New York Yankees (9:08am)

Tip: Indians WIN

New York are down 2-1 in this series but they secured a 1-0 victory in game 3. Chapman held his nerve in the 9th and closed out the win. In game 4, Luis Severino will return to the mound after he had a woeful start in the AL Wildcard. He lasted just 0.1 innings as he allowed 2 home runs and 4 hits in the first. Luckily the Yankees bullpen saved the day, but he can’t afford the same result against the Indians. There is a good chance for the Indians after they beat Severino 6-2 in August at Yankee Stadium. While for the Indians, Trevor Bauer is back on the mound after he shutout the Yankees in game 1. He went 6.2 innings and allowed just 2 hits. He also beat the Yankees in his last start at Yankee Stadium, 2-1. He pitched 6 innings and allowed just 4 hits. So based on the pitching matchup, the Indians have the edge and the Wolf is tipping they’ll close out the series in New York.

Los Angeles Dodgers at Arizona D-backs (12:08pm)

Tip: Over 9 runs ($1.87)

The Dodgers can wrap up the NLDS in Arizona as they lead 2-0. They’ll be facing Zach Greinke and he didn’t pitch too well in the NL Wildcard game at home. He lasted just 3.2 innings and allowed 4 runs. The Dodgers batting lineup is hot so far in the playoffs and they’ll look to get on base early against him. Yu Darvish is up for the Dodgers and they traded him in for this reason, pitching in the playoffs. But he did struggle to contain the D-Backs in the regular season as the Dodgers just won 8-6. The over total is comfortably 2-0 in this series and with the series on the line, the Diamondbacks should enjoy playing at home again. They ranked second in MLB for runs scored at home. The total runs in the NL Wildcard reached 19 and the Dodgers lineup will be hard to stop. So the Wolf is taking the over total in game 3.
