Sunday baseball is here and the Wolf has covered every game with his best bets for the day. The best chances for an upset are the Braves and Mets. The Indians are red-hot at the moment and the Wolf is going for a handicap win. The Astros have two mismatches on the mound in a double-header so the best bet in Oakland is the handicap for the Astros.
Minnesota Twins at Kansas City Royals (9:15am)
The Royals and Twins played in a high scoring game on Saturday and the Wolf is tipping that will continue into Sunday’s matchup. Jose Berrios of the Twins has pitched three straight no-decisions in Kansas City for a total of 12 runs in 13.2 innings. The Royals went 3-0 in those games and the last matchup totalled 17 runs. Berrios has also allowed a huge total of runs in his last few away starts. In his last start on the road, the Rays scored 5 against him and in the previous two away starts, he allowed 9 total runs. The Royals are starting Jakob Junis and he’s pitching well at home. He’s allowed 1 run in three straight home starts and has a 3.40 ERA overall in his last 7 starts this season. He’s made just one start against the Twins and the Royals won 6-4 in Minnesota. The over total saluted in that game by a run and with the form of Berrios on the road, the Wolf is leaning that way. In the last 4 meetings between the teams, the over went 3-0-1. The Wolf would also suggest betting on the Royals as the Twins are 0-8 in Berrios’ last 8 away starts. But the over total is a safer bet as the last time he pitched in Kansas City, the total reached 17 runs.
Colorado Rockies at Los Angeles Dodgers (11:10am)
The Rockies scored a 9-1 win in the first game of this series but the Wolf can see a turn of luck for the Dodgers. They have a 11-1 record in Alex Wood’s 12 starts at home in 2017. They also defeated the Rockies 6-1 in his last start against them. He has allowed just 8 hits in 12 innings pitched against the Rockies this season. So the Wolf is predicting another strong outing by Wood here. The Rockies have Chad Bettis on the mound and his record in Los Angeles is poor. Last season, he lost both starts against them and allowed a total of 9 runs over 10.2 innings. The Dodgers out-scored them by a total of 20-2 in those 2 games. He’s only made one away start this season and the Braves took a liking. He allowed 2 home runs and 5 runs overall as the Rockies lost 5-2. The Dodgers are 2-0 ATS versus Bettis and they have a 9-3 ATS in Wood’s 12 starts at home this season. So the Wolf says the best bet is the Dodgers to cover the handicap on Sunday.
