NFL Super Bowl 51 Prop Guide
The Wolf lays down his best on-field prop bets for Super Bowl 51.
Devonta Freeman Rushing Yards – Under 57.5 ($1.87)
The Falcons running back could struggle to run the ball in this one and will most likely be needed in the receiving game if the Patriots attempt to shut down Julio Jones or game flow goes against them. Freeman has hit under 57.5 rushing yards in 3 of his last 4 games and comes up against a strong Pats defence here. Tevin Coleman will be worked in as well, cutting into Freeman’s carries.
Devonta Freeman Receving Yards – Over 36.5 ($1.87)
The Wolf is expecting Freeman to struggle with the ball in hand and will be heavily involved in the passing game to help the Falcons offence move the chains. He’s hit over 36.5 receiving yards in his last 3 games and will be an important weapon for Matt Ryan.
LeGarette Blount Rushing Yards – Over 63.5 ($1.87)
This prop bet is more about game flow than anything else, with talk that the Patriots might go run heavy to keep the explosive Falcons offence off the field as long as possible. There’s been talk that the Patriots could adopt a similar plan to the what the Philadelphia Eagles came up with in their Week 10 defeat of the Falcons. On that occasion, the Falcons were limited to 15 points and just 13 rush attempts, while the Eagles running backs combined for a total of 38 carries. We’re all aware of the antics of Bill Belichick, with The Wolf hoping Dion Lewis or James White don’t spoil Blount’s party.
Total Attempted Field Goals – Under 4.5 ($1.83)
The Falcons are on a six-game winning streak averaging 39 points per game, while the Patriots have the best in the business at converting 3rd down opportunities. The Wolf doesn’t think we’ll see much of Matt Bryant or Stephen Gostkowski in Super Bowl 51.
Will any other player other than Ryan or Brady Attempt a Pass – Yes ($3.85)
It’s a Super Bowl and strange things can happen when the pressure is on. The Wolf is prepared to take a gamble here at the odds that Julian Edelman or Mohammad Sanu could shock us all by launching the pigskin downfield.
Who will score the most receiving yards in the game? – Chris Hogan ($7.50)
Julio Jones is the obvious favourite at $2.50 in this market, while Julian Edelman is close behind at $3. Chris Hogan looks the value play at $7.50 with big-play ability and coming off 180 yards against the Steelers.
