Brazil 2016: Semi Finals
The Wolf made in rain in the quarter final… He tipped a three set thriller between Monfils and Nishikori ($2.20), said Del Potro would make his way past Bautista-Agut ($1.62) and had Rafa losing the firast set and winning at the juicy odds of $6. We’re down to four and The Wolf has one man in particular continuing his remarkable run…
Andy Murray v Kei Nishikori
After winning the opening set 6-0 against Johnson it looked like Murray will walk his way into the semi’s. Johnson had other ideas and fought his way all the way to a 3rd set breaker. That was when Murray again showed hi class playing his best when it counted most. Nishikori also needed a breaker in the deciding set to get past Monfils and he showed great resolve after to come back from 5-2 down in the tiebreaker. The Japanese star faces a monumental task against the Brit. Murray has won 6 of their 7 meetings including dominant straight sets wins in Madrid and Toronto last year. Murray to show his class in a comfortable win.
Tip: Sets Murray 2-0 ($2.00)
Juan Martin Del Potro v Rafael Nadal
Both men have had to overcome injury problems over the last few years but it has all fallen to place for them in Rio. Nadal has fallen right back into his grinding ways – wearing down his opponents. Del Potro on the other hand has powered his way past his opponents and taken the game away from them with some flawless serving and big hitting. It has been 3 years since they last met and on that occasion it was the Argentine who came out on top. Clay court encounters aside, Nadal leads the H2H 5-4 but The Wolf says we should not ignore the tennis being played by Del Potro. He can hit through Rafa and has the ability to hold serve with consummate ease. Look for his slice backhand to play a pivotal role in disrupting the rhythm of Rafa. The Wolf is going with the upset and backing the Argentine to make the gold medal match.
Tip: Del Potro WIN ($2.38)
